A software engineer with a passion for solving complex problems. I enjoy teaching and learning all there is to know about software development.
I'm a software engineer from Eugene, OR who enjoys problem solving, teaching, and learning. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Science from the University of Oregon and currently work at LLNL on both a workflow tool called Merlin designed for high performance computing and a data management tool called Sina.
Outside of software engineering, I love hiking and exploring new places. I've traveled all over the Pacific Northwest visiting various hiking trails, beaches, and mountains. This picture is from a trip I took to Blue Pool in Oregon. If you're interested in getting to know me more or have any suggestions on places I should visit, then...

At LLNL I work for the WEAVE team on two projects called Merlin and Sina. Merlin is a tool that makes it easy to build, run, and process the kinds of large-scale HPC workflows needed for cognitive simulation. After taking over as the lead on Merlin I have developed new features, fixed bugs, refactored code, improved the test suite, and provided user assistance when necessary. Sina is a tool that helps codes store, query, and visualize their data. My work on Sina revolves around integration into existing codes.

In 2024 I recieved a silver award from the WSC department at LLNL. The WSC Silver Award is described as: 'Recognition and award for significant achievement or contribution that has an impact typically at the division or department level.' This reward was granted for consistent and high-quality Merlin development resulting in a major new release.
I received the Mercer Family Foundation Grant for my research in space-based solar energy conducted my sophomore year of college. This is a solar energy system where the energy obtained from the sun is harvested in space and transferred to the ground on Earth via electromagnetic transmission.
In 2022, after recieving my degree, the University of Oregon awarded me with Magna Cum Laude Honors for graduating in the top 5% of my class.
I've received Dean's List Honors from the University of Oregon four different times (March 2018, December 2018, March 2019, and June 2019). This is awarded for having 4 classes and finishing with a 4.0 GPA or higher for the term.
In 2017 Panera Bread awarded me the Heart of Service Award for outstanding customer service.
